University of Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian did not rule out benching starting quarterback Arch Manning following a 27-24 loss to the Florida Gators on Saturday afternoon. ProFootballTalk, Yahoo Sports, and Yahoo College Football all reported that the defeat prompted questions regarding a potential change at the quarterback position. [1][3][4]

When asked whether he considered replacing Manning during or after the game, Sarkisian stated that the team was not playing great offensive football and that everything is going to be evaluated, according to ProFootballTalk, On3, and USA Today. ProFootballTalk noted that K.J. Lacey could replace Manning if a change is made. [1][8][10]

The loss to Florida marks the second consecutive defeat for Texas, following a 27-24 loss to Oklahoma, as FTMQ Sports reported earlier. Manning threw two fourth-quarter interceptions during that earlier defeat on October 10. [5][7][16]

Stephen Ambrose Sarkisian serves as the head football coach at the University of Texas after previous head coaching stints at the University of Washington and the University of Southern California. Manning, the nephew of former NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning, is in his college career with the Longhorns after attending Isidore Newman School in New Orleans. [1][12][13][15]
