Fifteen quarterbacks were announced on Thursday as semifinalists for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, Yahoo College Football reported. The list includes Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning, Notre Dame Fighting Irish quarterback CJ Carr, Georgia Bulldogs quarterback Gunner Stockton, and Utah Utes quarterback Devon Dampier. SicEmDawgs.com also reported that Stockton was named to the top 15 list. [1][8][9][10][11]

The recognition comes despite mixed reviews for Manning in other postseason evaluations. Yahoo College Football and Yahoo Sports Top both reported that Heisman Trophy voters do not consider Manning to be in the conversation for their award this season, despite Texas being undefeated and ranked as the top team in the country. Yahoo College Football also noted that both Carr and Manning are listed as rising prospects in rankings for the 2027 NFL Draft. [1][2]

Stockton has led Georgia as the team prepares for a top-ten matchup against Alabama on Saturday, CBS College Football reported. CBS College Football noted that both Georgia and Alabama succeeded early this season after choosing not to acquire a quarterback through the transfer portal during the summer. [3]

Off the field, the Manning family continues to generate college football attention. According to Yahoo Sports Top, Peyton Manning's 15-year-old son, Marshall, has already received offers from four major college programs. Additionally, former college quarterback Eli Manning stated he is supporting his nephew Arch and the Texas Longhorns when they play his alma mater, Ole Miss, in Week 8. [4]
