The Florida Gators are expected to start sophomore quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. in their Week 7 game against the seventh ranked Texas Longhorns. Yahoo College Football and CBS College Football both reported that starting quarterback Aaron Philo is dealing with a shoulder injury sustained during Florida's 38-19 loss to the South Carolina Gamecocks. Philo is classified as a game time decision for the upcoming road game on Saturday. Jones entered the game in relief during the loss to South Carolina, completing six of eight pass attempts for 40 yards and throwing one interception. According to CBS College Football, Jones was a three star recruit and was ranked as the number 25 quarterback. [1][2]

Florida enters the matchup against Texas seeking to end a two game losing streak. Texas is also looking to rebound after a loss to Oklahoma dropped the Longhorns from the number one spot in the national rankings down to number seven. [1][4][7]
