Gamecocks quarterback LaNorris Sellers threw four touchdown passes and ran for a fifth score to lead the South Carolina offense, according to Yahoo Sports. CBS College Football reported that the victory was only the third all-time win for South Carolina at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Florida faced persistent blocking issues as its offensive line struggled throughout the game, according to reports from Yahoo Sports. [1][2][4][6][7]

The game experienced a halftime delay caused by weather while South Carolina held a 17 to 10 lead, according to reports from Yahoo Sports and the Gainesville Sun. Yahoo Sports reported Florida as ranked No. 15 or No. 16 entering the game. As FTMQ Sports reported earlier, South Carolina entered the matchup with a 2 and 3 overall record and an 0 and 3 mark in SEC play after edge rusher Dylan Stewart returned from a one-game suspension.
