Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams has not yet received a fine for wearing unauthorized shoes during Week 7, according to Yahoo NFL, ProFootballTalk, and NBC Sports. Williams wore cleats made by Caddix, a brand that lacks an official licensing agreement with the NFL. [1][2][8]

ProFootballTalk reported that the NFL previously fined Williams $11,941 for displaying an unauthorized logo on his footwear during a Week 6 game against the Atlanta Falcons. A source told ProFootballTalk that although Williams wore the same unauthorized brand the following week, no additional penalty has been issued. [2]

Addressing the media on Wednesday, Williams explained via ESPN's Courtney Cronin that his decision to wear Caddix shoes stems from a personal focus on bodily health. Williams stated that he prioritizes remaining healthy and staying on the field. [2]

Williams plays quarterback for the Chicago Bears. He spent his college career at the University of Oklahoma and the University of Southern California, winning the Heisman Trophy in 2022 before entering the NFL. [13]
