The Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Cleveland Browns 27 to 6 in a divisional matchup at Acrisure Stadium, according to ProFootballTalk, Yahoo NFL, and Yahoo Sports Top. Cleveland Browns defensive end Jared Verse registered one assist and one quarterback hit in the loss, ProFootballTalk reported. [1][3][4][7]

Following the game, Steelers safety Jaquan Brisker criticized Verse for his prior comments, stating that the defensive end should have kept his mouth shut after finishing with zero tackles, ProFootballTalk and theScore reported. Yahoo NFL added that Steelers running back Jaylen Warren remarked after the win that some walk while some talk. [1][4][11]

The game featured early physical altercation when Steelers left guard Mason McCormick slammed Verse to the ground during an extra-point attempt in the first quarter, according to Yahoo NFL and Yahoo Sports Top. Verse stood by his prior statements calling the Steelers dirty despite the lopsided defeat, Yahoo NFL reported. [3][4][5][6]

Verse was selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft out of Florida State and named Defensive Rookie of the Year before joining the Cleveland Browns. Brisker played college football at Lackawanna College and Penn State before entering the NFL, where he now plays safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers. [13][14]
