The Baltimore Ravens face a shortage of available quarterbacks before their Thursday game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, ProFootballTalk and Yahoo Sports report. Starter Lamar Jackson is going to injured reserve due to a thumb injury that requires surgery and may end his season. Backup Tyler Huntley left Sunday's loss against the Buffalo Bills with a toe injury. [1][2][3][4]

Third-string quarterback Joe Fagnano entered Sunday's game but is also dealing with an injury, according to ProFootballTalk and Yahoo Sports. ProFootballTalk reports that Fagnano took a low hit from Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver in the second half. Head coach Jesse Minter stated that Fagnano is fighting through a few physical issues, while Yahoo Sports reports that Fagnano is dealing with an ankle injury. [1][3]

Fagnano is an undrafted rookie quarterback who played college football for the Maine Black Bears and UConn Huskies before joining the Baltimore Ravens. If available, Fagnano is in line to make his first professional start on Thursday. [1][3][11]

The Buffalo Bills won Sunday's home game against the Ravens by a score of 36-10, according to Yahoo Sports. Coach Minter did not fully commit to Fagnano starting the upcoming Week 9 match, noting only that the quarterback has a chance to play as the team works through its options. [1][3][5]
