Cornerback Joey Porter Jr. has been listed as a starter on the Dallas Cowboys depth chart and is prepared to play more snaps, according to reports from ProFootballTalk, Yahoo NFL, and NBC Sports. [1][2][10]

The roster move follows Porter's debut with Dallas after being traded from the Pittsburgh Steelers, according to Yahoo Sports. Yahoo Sports also reported that trading Porter impacted Pittsburgh's secondary, forcing defensive coordinator Patrick Graham into soft zone schemes. [4][5]

Porter played college football for the Penn State Nittany Lions before the Pittsburgh Steelers selected him in the second round of the 2023 NFL draft. He is the son of former NFL linebacker Joey Porter, who was drafted by the Steelers in the 1999 NFL draft. [13]
