Oregon will start third-string quarterback Brock Thomas instead of Dylan Raiola in Saturday's game against Nebraska, CBS Sports reported. The report stated that Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer confirmed Thomas took the majority of first-team reps in practice during the week. 247Sports also reported that Oregon is likely to start Thomas in place of Raiola. [1][8][9]

The change at quarterback comes as starter Dante Moore continues to recover from a concussion, according to CBS Sports. Head coach Dan Lanning stated during a mid-week press conference that recent performance and the entire week of practice factored into the decision. Raiola will sit on the bench against his former team. [1][8][14]

Raiola previously played college football for the Nebraska Cornhuskers before joining the Oregon Ducks. He was one of the top-ranked prospects in the 2024 recruiting class. Oregon wide receiver Evan Stewart has also been downgraded to doubtful for the matchup. [5][14]

Oregon enters Week 7 with two losses on the season and is seeking a win at Autzen Stadium to preserve its College Football Playoff chances, Yahoo Sports reported. Yahoo Sports also noted that the Ducks are seeking to avoid consecutive home losses for the first time since 2016. [3][4][6]
