San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw led his team with 12 tackles in a 24-14 victory against the Denver Broncos at Levi's Stadium, CBS NFL and Yahoo Sports reported. Following the game, Greenlaw engaged in a heated exchange with Broncos head coach Sean Payton, citing motivation from feeling ignored and disrespected during his previous tenure playing under Payton in Denver. [1][2][5][6][7]

During the first quarter of Sunday's game, Greenlaw made a tackle on the Denver sideline and gestured toward Payton while returning to the field, according to Yahoo NFL and ProFootballTalk. Video and media reports showed Greenlaw directing profanity at Payton during a postgame interaction on the field, which Greenlaw later confirmed to reporters. [5][6][7][9][12]

Greenlaw was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the fifth round of the 2019 NFL draft out of Arkansas and also spent time with the Denver Broncos. Payton, who previously led the New Orleans Saints to a Super Bowl victory in the 2009 season, currently serves as the head coach of the Denver Broncos. [13][14][15][16]
