Texas defeats Ole Miss to snap two-game losing streak

The Texas Longhorns defeated the No. 7 Ole Miss Rebels 34-27 on Saturday to end a two-game losing streak, according to reports from Sports Illustrated and Yahoo Sports. Quarterback Arch Manning recorded three total touchdowns in the victory. The win put Texas back into contention for the College Football Playoff. [1][2][3]

Manning delivered a message to ESPN reporter Holly Rowe during his postgame interview on the field, Sports Illustrated reported. Yahoo Sports noted that Manning showed an edgy and fiery attitude during the game to lead Texas to the win. [1][7]

Despite the victory, Texas suffered a key roster loss. Left tackle Trevor Goosby sustained a left knee injury during the game and will miss the remainder of the 2026 season, Yahoo Sports reported. Goosby had started all seven games this season for the Longhorns. [2][4]
