The Montreal Canadiens have traded defenseman Jayden Struble to the Nashville Predators. In return for the defender, Montreal acquired a second-round pick in the 2027 NHL entry draft, according to reporting from Sportsnet, Yahoo Sports, and the Associated Press. Struble was originally selected by the Canadiens in the second round, 46th overall, of the 2019 NHL entry draft. The six-foot, 207-pound left-handed defenseman from Cumberland, Rhode Island, played collegiate hockey at Northeastern University from 2019 to 2023, recording nine goals and 39 assists in 104 games. After making his NHL debut during the 2023, 24 season, Struble appeared in 56 games in his rookie campaign with Montreal. During that initial season, he registered three goals and seven assists while averaging 16 minutes and seven seconds of ice time per game. [13]
